Doll MOD in Girls' Frontline 2

Doll MOD is the Chiral Redundancy system that turns a Standard Doll into an Elite form. It opened with the 27 August 2026 version. You do not pull the Elite from Targeted Procurement. You take the Standard you already own into the Refitting Room, spend a unique MOD item, and unlock a second kit. The first — and currently the only — MOD path is Nemesis: Gnosis, a Corrosion Sentinel. This page is the upgrade ruleset. Version dates and shops live on Chiral Redundancy. Combat still uses cover, Stability, and tiles from combat and tiles. If you have not finished the tutorial, start with getting started instead.

The parent index is the Guides Hub. Gnosis is a welfare Elite, not a banner. Treat her as a roster upgrade you claim, then staff her on team comps when the Corrosion tiles are ready.

What Doll MOD actually is

A MOD form is an alternate Elite-rarity version of a named Standard Doll. Appearance changes. Animations stay close to the original. The game treats the two forms as separate combat units:

• Levels, Neural Expansion, Neural Helix, Keys, Remolding Core, and weapons are not shared.
• Standard Nemesis keeps her own favorite rifle. Gnosis wants Sibyl.
• Only one form can be active at a time. You switch in the Refitting Room, not mid-battle.
• Affinity and Covenant progress is shared. Costumes from the Standard form can be worn on the MOD form. Private Meeting Logs on the Crew Deck are a separate set for Gnosis.

That split is the part people miss. Unlocking Gnosis does not instantly give you a level-60 Elite. You still spend Combat Reports, Stock Boost Bars, and Transcription Conductors on the new body. Farming routes sit on farming and resources. Do not starve the Standard squad the week you click the Frame; the Frame is free, the EXP is not.

Fortification also changes names. Ordinary Elites eat Neural Archives (duplicates). MOD Dolls eat Neural Images. Those Images come from the version shop, not from a 50/50.

How to unlock Nemesis: Gnosis

You need Nemesis’ Original Frame. During Gnostic Insight (27 August 2026 through 7 October 2026 on Global), the event hands that Frame out for playing the trial stages and version tasks. You do not spend Targeted Access Permissions. You do not convert Collapse Pieces. If you own Standard Nemesis — she is a story / early-roster Corrosion option — take the Frame to the Refitting Room and MOD her.

After Gnostic Insight ends, the Original Frame is scheduled to sit in MOD Supplies as an exchange item, so late accounts are not locked out forever. The event window is still the cheap path. Finish it. Redeem leftover mailbox and live strings on the codes hub while you are already in the client.

Gnostic Insight is a version event, not a story chapter. Clearing it does not skip campaign nodes. It exists so every Commander can own the first Elite MOD without a banner clock.

Refitting Room: switching forms

Open the Refitting Room (unlocked after SL-1-2, the same gate as most enhancement screens). Select Nemesis. If the Original Frame is in inventory, the MOD action is available. After the upgrade, a toggle lets you swap standard Nemesis and Nemesis: Gnosis.

Switch when the map asks for it, not because the art is new:

• Keep standard Nemesis if you have not invested Gnosis yet and you need a body that is already leveled.
• Swap to Gnosis once her weapon, attachments, and a usable Helix are online. Her kit is a long-range Corrosion Sentinel built around Prophecies and Support Actions (Doomguide), not a copy-paste of the Standard sniper loop.
• You cannot field both in one fight. Plan the active form before you deploy.

Affinity gifts and Covenant steps you already did on Nemesis still count. You are not restarting the relationship track. You are restarting the combat track.

Segment materials and Sibyl

Segments are the MOD fortification steps (the V0–V6 analogue). Materials are Neural Image - Gnosis plus shop currency, not gacha copies. During Chiral Redundancy you earn Specification Index from the themed event / Path of the Exile track, then spend it in MOD Supplies (Shop → Trading Post) on Images and on Sibyl, her Elite RF.

The published intent for the first MOD is that Commanders can take Gnosis to Segment 6 and develop Sibyl without a Military Upgrade banner. That is the welfare pitch. After the event, leftover Images can still be bought slowly from Neural Integration (Redundant Pieces) and from Quality Selection monthly packs, with a monthly cap (commonly 30 Images). Do not wait for the monthly drip if the version shop still has stock. Permissions still outrank cosmetics in the main event shop; MOD specification items outrank furniture.

Sibyl is a Corrosion rifle: it raises Corrosion damage and Support Action crit. Bittersweet Caramel and other RFs can carry V0 while you finish the shop line. Attachments follow the usual Sentinel rules — Corrosion Boost is the obvious set. Full gun and Key talk belongs on weapons and builds after the form is unlocked.

How Gnosis actually plays

Nemesis: Gnosis is a Corrosion Sentinel. She marks targets, then answers allied hits with Support Actions. Prophecies change those follow-ups, her range, and her mobility depending on positioning, enemy type, and whether the squad has enough Rifle or Corrosion Dolls. That is why she slots next to Klukai and Basti instead of replacing them.

On the best Dolls page she is still an A-tier Corrosion option at Standard rarity; the MOD form is the reason you stop treating her as a bench sniper. On the DPS tier list she is not a Klukai replacement. She is the long-range Support Action piece that makes a Corrosion core cheaper to field. Tile Transformation from the same patch (Burn + Corrosion = Venomfire, Corrosion + Corrosion = Withering) is legal on her maps. Read the combat page before you overwrite a teammate’s tile.

V0 Gnosis is already a kit. V1 (extra Support Action) and V3 are the practical shop breakpoints. Because Images are farmable, “wait for a duplicate banner” is the wrong advice. Spend Specification Index here before you spend it on a skin.

What not to do

• Do not skip Gnostic Insight because you “already have Klukai.” The Frame is free. The shop Images are timed.
• Do not dump every Combat Report into Standard Nemesis the week the Frame drops unless you plan to keep using that form. Gnosis needs her own level.
• Do not treat MOD as a limited banner. Pity, 50/50, and Targeted Access Permissions do not apply. OTs-14 and Soppo are separate clocks.
• Do not expect future Standard Dolls to MOD on day one of this patch. The upgradeable list starts at Nemesis. More names will follow in later versions; this page will stay about the system plus the first path.

A Commander who finishes Gnostic Insight, parks Specification Index into Images and Sibyl, and then builds Gnosis like any other Elite will own a Corrosion Sentinel the gacha did not charge for. That is the entire point of Doll MOD in Chiral Redundancy.
